It’s extremely important when it comes to trying to grow your online business that you don’t get stuck in a cycle. You see new strategies, new ways to take action and you just go mad implementing all these new things. But you don’t see any uptake and so you jump straight back into trying new strategies… because THE strategy must be out there?!

Girl… first off. That’s freaking exhausting and not at all sustainable. Even if you see the needle move a little, you’re still going to be swirling with self-doubt.

You’re waiting to hear about the next big thing 24/7. It’s called “shiny object syndrome” and it suuuucks.

I’ve been there myself, believe me, I’m here to tell you this from a position of KNOWING because I did the exact same thing!

Buying the courses, the ebooks, listening to the experts’ videos, watching what other amazing bloggers and content creators do on IG and YouTube – there’s SO MUCH VALUE out there and it can all help and assist you.

But today, I want to take the time to talk about how mindset + strategy working together is the key to growing your online business.

And this isn’t just any old mindset and any flashy new strategy.

These are timeless things that will help anyone, whether you’re at the start of your blogging and online biz journey, or whether you’re a little more seasoned and need a new perspective.

So, let’s jump right in with some more info on the mindset + strategies you need to use together to help grow your online business!

What Does Mindset Have To Do With Business?

It’s extremely important to realise that your mindset is crucial when it comes to the success of your online business.

If you are:

  • lacking in self-trust, constantly doubting your abilities or the choices you make
  • feeling fearful and unsure, not wanting to take any risks, feeling anxious
  • constantly looking outside of yourself for validation you are doing a good job

and many more things… you’re going to struggle to show up with the energy you need to be successful.

You’re going to hold yourself back from taking risks and putting yourself out there. And you may even struggle to make interesting and authentic content because you’re worried about what other people think.

Mindset is all about having the ability to have a different perspective. To shift those beliefs and thought patterns into strong, confident and brave ones.

Mindset and business go hand in hand because if you are performing from a place of lack, where you let fear and worry drive your actions, and where you don’t have faith in yourself… you’re going to find it tough to grow.

What Can You About Building A Stronger Mindset?

So, there are a few ways in which you can build a stronger, more resilient mindset.

These tips and tricks will help you to focus on your strengths and allow you to confidently lead your business. Because I promise you – you have the resources within yourself to be successful!

To have everything you have ever wanted!

It’s completely possible, you just have to believe. You have to develop the mindset practices that allow you to push through and continue no matter what.

Gratitude + Recognition

If you follow me on the blog, on IG or anywhere really, you know how important gratitude is to me.

It is literally the KEY TO HAPPINESS!

We live in a world where we are constantly striving, and I don’t think this is a bad thing. Wanting more and growing and being successful are all amazing things to work towards.

But it’s also vital to make sure that you are recognising your achievements, and that you are practising gratitude for all the amazing things you already have in your life.

If you are not regularly taking the time to sit back and reflect on the achievements you’ve made in your life, the accomplishments and the blessings you have… you’ll never feel successful or truly content with your life.

Learning to recognise all that you have around you and truly being grateful, this is a huge mindset shift and will bring a lot of positive feelings.

Try writing a daily list of 3-5 things you’re grateful or happy for, those things that made you feel good or smile, even for a split second.

Doing this regularly will help train your mind, and you’ll start to see more things and feel more grateful and positive in life.

Removing The Fear of Failure

I want you to imagine there is no such thing as failure… that nothing you do in this world would result in a failure. What would you do? Where would you start?!

Truly, failure is simply a lesson. It’s the feedback that something didn’t work that way or you need to try a different route.

It doesn’t mean you have to stop! It doesn’t mean that it’s all over for you!

Learning to see failure as a stepping stone towards success is a huge shift. Those who are successful and have excelled in their lives are well-seasoned with failure.

The risk is nothing, and the benefits to trying, learning and getting knocked down make it WORTH IT.

Success comes from repeatedly “failing”, learning all the lessons, and then getting back up and moving forward.

Developing Patience + Slowing Down The Hustle

It’s also very damaging to your mindset if you are constantly pushing yourself to your limits and aren’t being patient when it comes to growing your business.

By trying to force things forward, pushing the results, and feeling desperate about your situation, you aren’t behaving and taking action with the right energy behind it.

If you take action from a calm, poised and understanding place, if you are patient and have faith in your overarching certainty of success, you will be much more likely to see the growth.

Not only will your energy help to boost your business, you will enjoy the process much more!

We are out here trying to build and grow successful online businesses because we WANT to enjoy the daily process, we want to work on and in our amazing business and feel the freedom, the alignment and the positivity.

Don’t force it and end up taking all that away from yourself.

Working On Your Growth Mindset

Another huge element of mindset for business is around building a growth mindset.

This is basically the belief that you can grow, learn and develop your skills, your expertise and your intelligence, rather than these being pre-determined, fixed and unchangeable things.

Having a growth mindset allows you to understand that you are never stuck, you can always move forward. You can grow and learn new things and the skills you need to take your business to the next level.

It’s key to keep in mind that you can always develop and figure out the things you need to figure out! It’s always inside of you, the resources you need are always there. You just need to practice tapping into them.

Learning again, especially after leaving school and conventional education behind, can be daunting. However, it’s often a lot more accessible and allows you to niche down and learn more about the subjects that you definitely enjoy.

Usually, it’s much easier to learn about a topic when you enjoy it!

How All Of This Mindset Work Feeds Into Your Online Business

So as we’ve gone through a couple of the mindset related points that feed into an online business, I just want to go over how these actually help you grow.

Like I mentioned previously, your mindset determines the energy with which you possess. It determines how you show up for your business, and the kinds of actions you take within it to build it and grow.

Your mindset helps you to feel good and takes off some of the pressure as you go through the process of building your own online empire.

All of it works together to build a resilient platform and foundation that you can build on top of.

Without it, you can feel misaligned, unsettled, stressed and overwhelmed. This can lead to you wanting to give up, feeling like you’re not ready, that you don’t have what it takes etc.

These are limiting beliefs that are wholly NOT TRUE and will not serve you in growing your business.

Instead, having the mindset in place will allow you to perform from a position of self-confidence, self-trust, and the ability to relax, knowing you don’t need to have every single answer at all times.

How Mindset + Strategy Come Together

Your mindset is like the foundation of your business, and once you have this working for you (it’s a continuous process so not something you can fix and be done!), you can move on to strategies.

For me, these two things working together, mindset + strategy, are the key to building a personal brand.

There are many different strategies out there, and again this isn’t a one size fits all type of situation.

You have to try and test things out and see what works for you and your business.

However, there are a few things that will definitely help build your brand and help you get noticed:

  • Get visible, don’t be afraid to show your face and allow people to get to know you – people buy from people they know, like and trust and this is especially important to build when you’re in the online space. As you don’t have a store, people can’t get to see the product/service tangibly before they pay, so you need to build that connection first. If you use IG, get on stories, record yourself, create IGTV videos etc. If you have a blog, put up more photos of your face and tell your story.
  • Grow a community, don’t focus too much on vanity metrics – whilst it’s important to build an audience and have people to sell to, it’s important not to get sucked into focusing solely on how many likes and follows you get. They don’t pay the bills! They can help towards building a connected online community though, so work on balancing both elements. At the end of the day, no audience = no sales.
  • Showcase your expertise and be an authority in your industry – it’s important that you show up as an expert in your industry. Make sure you are showing that you have the knowledge and understanding of the area you are talking about. Don’t brag but show off! Be knowledgeable and willing to help others with that information. Be a resource for them!
  • Give lots of free value, as much as you possible can – another important factor is giving away lots of free value, as much as you possibly can. Creating information, guides, training sessions etc shows off your expertise and gives your audience a reason to follow you. They soak up that knowledge and information just by being around you. Something is in it for them! Your business isn’t about YOU, it’s about SERVING. So serve it all up! FYI – you can do this in so many ways – blog posts 😉 IG stories and videos, YouTube videos, podcasts etc. Just find out what your audience likes and what you can give the most value through and GO FOR IT!

These tips are just a few to get started, but will really help you to start building an engaged audience and community of people that come to you because they get the information they wouldn’t get elsewhere.

They recognise the expertise you have and your willingness to help people and will be drawn by this.
